English in the Moroccan Secondary School
I am always asking the question of the future of English in the Moroccan Secondary School especially in the areas where urbnization is not there. How could students learn this new and dynamic language. I still look for a clear question and I hope that SS and teachers from any where in the glob answer me this. For me teachers of English need to do more and more and use their own ways because for these kind of schools Competency Based Instruction is not working at all. Some say that the use of L1 is not a good way, but I discovred that it is so important in making students understand especially when they do their own contrustive analysis. An extra point I want add is that students are always influenced by their mother tongue and other ways of learning. What do you say?

Lets push our students
Dear all,
I am really happy to share with you all that I feel concerning this blog or teaching in general. You know when were in the training center every thing was cool for us. We concedered teaching as an easy task and we imagined that we can use technology and a lots of materials. However the circumatances of the Moroccan secondary school are not in a perfect or healthy condition. You know the place where I teach is very difficult for me and and for my students as well. Well students have never heared about some thing called English and they have no idea about England or USA. They dont know that these countries speak English. Just one student told me that he heared that English is used in UAE. So, as a teacher equiped with the last theories of ELT that requires using ICT and students based learning. Of course these theories like Michel Luis with his Lexical Approach and task based learning. Unfortuantely for my students it is hard to learn by these ways and I found myself in a tricky situation. Students are not motivated, no equipments even the student's book is not available for some and no idea about English. I sartred doing my best to make them have an idea about what is English. I went to alhoceima to buy books for them and I started teaching them using their mother tongue, but step by step I move to use English. Now my students are progressing and I will do more efforts to help them go on. Of course if you have any comments or suggestions I will be honored to read them.

TV, Children and Langauge
The most important issue in language learning and languages acquisition is the ability of the learner to speak a language and use it for communication with all the members of his society or the ones of the target language. So the learner has to use a lot of skills and equipments to make him or her communicate. Indeed, TV is considered to be one of the most important communication technology that is used by learners especially children or young learners. The question that raises itself is: is it good for language learners to stay a long time with TV? The answer is provided by Dr Deborah Linebarger in his article Young children, language and television
